    The Scent

    A fragrance built like a metal object. Grapefruit gives it a bright open, sharp and citric — the last cool thing before the composition turns dense. Amber and Peru balsam take over: resinous, close to skin, quiet in the way expensive things are. Ambergris underneath keeps the fragrance warm rather than merely rich. Cool at the surface, heated through. Ornate without being crowded.
