The Scent
Pink pepper and lemon start it briefly bright before rum and Java vetiver take the room. Clary sage keeps it herbal underneath. Then tobacco leaf, vanilla bean and styrax settle in and stay — warm, sweet, dimly lit. The scent of a bar the tourists never find. Not smoky as a costume. Smoky as an address.
